Austin Street Center in downtown Dallas provides emergency shelter and related services to the homeless in a compassionate, faith-based community.

This includes 'whole person' therapeutic programs that better equip those in need to make responsible choices and develop economic self-sufficiency.

Once each quarter, members and friends of First United Methodist Garland travel to Austin Street Center on a Sunday morning to serve breakfast to the homeless.

Hope Clinic exists to share the love of Jesus Christ by partnering with the local community to provide the underserved population with primary health care and resources for healthy living.

Since 1961, LIFT has enhanced lives and strengthened the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex by helping adults learn to read.

First United Methodist Garland supports LIFT by providing classroom space and helping to recruit volunteer teachers.

Annual summer (June, July) opportunities to encourage children thru reading. Also to support college interns as they lead children in Christian community, programming and academic skills development.

The ROC (Re'creation Outreach Center) helps reach the unreached with a Christ-centered message of love, forgiveness and hope via a variety of ministries, including a food pantry, job search assistance, pregnancy counseling and support, and much more.

First United Methodist Garland provides food, financial and other support to the ROC.

Dirty water threatens lives and destroys livelihoods on a devastating scale.

Sponsored by First United Methodist Church, New World United Methodist Church and Lifewell Church of Garland, the goal of Running 4 Clean Water is to help provide clean, safe drinking water around the world.

Proceeds from this annual 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run go to Seven Hills Global Outreach and Zion Ministries for the purpose of building water wells.

This community gathering spot near SMU has lofty goals - to be a good neighbor and to inspire action from its customers and the business community.

In addition to selling fair trade coffee, Union Coffee House adopts causes like hunger and raises funds and awareness for related non-profits like the North Texas Food Bank.
